World Cup 2026 Quarter-Final Picks — One Value Angle for Every Tie, July 9 to 11
Loading...
Eight teams left, four ties, three days. The bracket has narrowed to a clear favourite (France), two surging heavyweights (Spain, Argentina), and a set of live underdogs — two of them, Norway and Switzerland, in their first quarter-final in decades. This is the practitioner’s card for the whole quarter-final round: confirmed kickoffs, dated decimal odds, the injury or storyline that actually moves each line, and one specific value angle per match. Work the board tie by tie, and treat the winner prices as the starting point, not the play.

TL;DR — What you need to know in 30 seconds
- France vs Morocco — July 9, 4:00 PM ET, Gillette Stadium (Boston). France 1.56–1.59 / Draw 3.80–3.95 / Morocco 6.00–6.90. 2022 semi-final rematch; Tchouaméni a major doubt.
- Spain vs Belgium — July 10, 3:00 PM ET, SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles). Spain 1.61 / Draw 4.00 / Belgium 5.25. Spain the tournament’s best defence; Belgium without Onana (ACL). H2H hugely one-sided (Spain 6W-1D-0L).
- Norway vs England — July 11, 5:00 PM ET, Hard Rock Stadium (Miami). Norway 3.80 / Draw 3.50 / England 1.85–1.95. England’s injury/suspension crisis vs Norway’s first-ever QF and a red-hot Haaland (7 goals).
- Argentina vs Switzerland — July 11, 9:00 PM ET, Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City). Argentina 1.71–1.80 / Draw 3.50 / Switzerland 5.25. Messi leads the Golden Boot on 8; Switzerland’s first QF since 1954, three goals conceded all tournament.

Tie 1 — France vs Morocco (July 9, 4:00 PM ET)
The numbers. France 1.56–1.59 / Draw 3.80–3.95 / Morocco 6.00–6.90. Gillette Stadium, Boston — open-air, hot (~88°F).
The read. A direct replay of the 2022 semi-final (France won 2-0). France have won all six matches but needed a Mbappé penalty to beat Paraguay 1-0; Morocco are unbeaten and beat hosts Canada 3-0 in the Round of 16. The swing factor is Tchouaméni’s fitness — a major doubt with an adductor tear. France concede little (3 in 6, three clean sheets); Morocco defend deep and break.
One-line pick angle. Under 2.5 goals — France win low-scoring games and Morocco sit compact. Full breakdown in our dedicated France vs Morocco preview.
Tie 2 — Spain vs Belgium (July 10, 3:00 PM ET)
The numbers. Spain 1.61 / Draw 4.00 / Belgium 5.25. SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles — fixed roof, weather not a factor. (Note: one fractional summary priced Belgium longer, around 5.80.)
The form context. Spain have won four and drawn one (a 0-0 with Cape Verde), conceding just two goals all tournament — the best defence left in the field, with four clean sheets in a row. Belgium are unbeaten but drew three of five and needed a 4-1 win over the USA to get here. The head-to-head is emphatic: seven meetings, Spain six wins and a draw, Belgium yet to beat them (16-3 on aggregate goals).
The absence that matters. Belgium are without Amadou Onana (ruptured ACL, out for the tournament). That removes a midfield ball-winner against a Spain side that dominates possession — exactly the profile Belgium can least afford to lose. Spain’s Nico Williams is a doubt (adductor) but expected in the matchday squad.
One-line pick angle. Spain to win and under 3.5 goals — the best defence in the tournament against a Belgium side that concedes and is missing its midfield screen. The H2H and the clean-sheet run both point the same way.
Tie 3 — Norway vs England (July 11, 5:00 PM ET)
The numbers. Norway 3.80 / Draw 3.50 / England 1.85–1.95. Hard Rock Stadium, Miami — open field, ~93°F with a 30% chance of afternoon storms. (England’s price varies by book: -106/1.94 vs 17/20/1.85.)
The form context. Norway are unbeaten, reached their first-ever World Cup quarter-final and their first World Cup since 1998, and stunned Brazil 2-1 in the Round of 16 with a Haaland double. England have won four of five, edging Mexico 3-2 to get here. The sides have never met at a major-tournament knockout.
The crisis that shapes the line. England arrive with a genuine right-side and midfield squeeze: Jordan Henderson is out (wrist fracture from a celebration mishap), Jarell Quansah is suspended (red card vs Mexico), and Reece James is a doubt (thigh). Haaland has seven goals in five and four match-winners. This is the round’s best underdog price.
One-line pick angle. Norway double-chance (draw or Norway) at value, or Haaland anytime scorer — a red-hot striker against a patched-up England back line is where the edge sits. Full detail in our England quarter-final injury crisis breakdown.
Tie 4 — Argentina vs Switzerland (July 11, 9:00 PM ET)
The numbers. Argentina 1.71–1.80 / Draw 3.50 / Switzerland 5.25. Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City — open-air, likely showers/storms, ~71–75°F at kickoff. (Argentina’s price varies: -140/1.71 vs 4/5/1.80.)
The form context. Argentina are unbeaten across five, with Messi leading the Golden Boot on 8 goals — he has scored in every match, including a hat-trick to open and the winner in a 3-2 comeback against Egypt. But they have conceded in each of their last three. Switzerland are also unbeaten, reached their first quarter-final since 1954 (72 years) and came through a shootout with Colombia 4-3 (0-0), with keeper Gregor Kobel making 16 saves. The all-time H2H favours Argentina heavily (five wins, two draws from seven since 1966).
The discipline watch. Argentina’s Gonzalo Montiel is one booking from a semi-final suspension; three Swiss players (Xhaka, Zakaria, Muheim) are in the same position. Switzerland’s Johan Manzambi is a doubt (knee; MRI ruled out anything serious).
One-line pick angle. Over 1.5 Argentina team goals or "both teams to score" — Argentina score freely (Messi in every game) but leak at the back, and Switzerland grind. A 2-1 type match is the base case, which the BTTS market prices more honestly than the Argentina win line.
